I-CAR INTRODUCES WEB SITE RECOGNITION FOR PLATINUM INDIVIDUALS Those who have achieved the industrys highest level of training now have another way to distinguish themselves in the collision industry. As of November 15, 2002 I-CAR began recognizing on its web site all who have achieved Platinum Individual status. The listing is alphabetized by last name and also includes the date the individual obtained the designation. The page will be updated weekly so all will be appropriately acknowledged.
We would like to thank those individuals who are helping to ensure safe and complete collision repairs, explained I-CAR Customer Care Manager Matt Forpanek. We hope that this recognition conveys our appreciation to those who have taken the time to achieve the Platinum Individual designation. The I-CAR Platinum Individual program was established to recognize individuals who have achieved the highest level of training from I-CAR and Industry Training Alliance providers relative to their position in the collision industry. Even more than a personal success, attaining the designation provides career distinction and industry recognition. To encourage ongoing training, I-CAR is pleased to now offer Platinum Individuals the opportunity to purchase I-CAR discount coupons at the Gold Class Professionals price. As leaders in the collision repair industry, Platinum Individuals continually demonstrate professionalism and dedication to complete and safe repairs. CAREER AND TECHNICAL SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES CONTINUE TO JOIN I-CAR INDUSTRY TRAINING ALLIANCE Fourteen career and technical schools and colleges have recently joined the I-CAR Industry Training Alliance. The following secondary and post-secondary schools are now members of the Alliance:
The Industry Training Alliance was formed by I-CAR in 2000 and brings together technical training providers and career and technical schools and colleges to optimize the training efforts of the collision industry. To become a member of the Industry Training Alliance, a career and technical school or college must use either the ADVANCE-TECH or Enhanced Delivery curriculum, offered by the I-CAR Education Foundation. In addition, the school must either be ASE-certified to NATEF standards, or if using Enhanced Delivery, the instructors must have successfully completed I-CARs Instructor Qualification Workshop and the appropriate Instructor Training Evaluations for each program offered. Applications are available online for students to receive Gold Class points from approved career and technical school and colleges and other Alliance training providers. |

The correct movie title for the November contest was License To Drive. Now get ready for this months edition of the contest and try to guess the movie from the description below! Prizes: Contest entries must be received by 12:00PM Friday, December 6, 2002 (US Central Time Zone). After collecting all correct entries, three individuals will be randomly selected for prizes. The three lucky winners will each receive one free I-CAR discount coupon. Winners will be notified through e-mail and their names will be published in the following months e-newsletter contest. Contest Guidelines/Rules:
Good luck and let the movie guessing begin This early 80s movie has easily become a cult classic! When two brothers go on a mission from God to reunite their old band it leads to some great rhythm and blues music and the most expensive car-chase scene ever filmed up to that time. Even the entire Illinois State Patrol cant manage to stop these two but then again when you have a half pack of cigarettes, a full tank of gas, its dark outside and you have sun glasses on who can stop you? |

I-CARS BROWARD COUNTY, FLORIDA COMMITTEE IS SPREADING THE WORD ABOUT GOLD CLASS PSAS Good things come to those who wait. Thats what I-CAR Broward County, Florida Committee Chairman Jimmy Suppe and his committee discovered when trying to obtain airtime for the I-CAR Gold Class Professionals public service announcements (PSAs). At first, the committee members tried to get the PSAs played by simply going to the radio stations to personally ask for support. Unfortunately, they did not receive the positive response they desired.
The committee then realized that Kelley Chevrolet in Hallandale, Florida, employer of committee member Diana Frye, has established relationships with local radio advertisers. The committee hoped to use her dealerships influence to get a foot in the door and build relationships of their own. The committee in fact built relationships with four radio stations, and the Gold Class PSAs have now been running on the stations for three months. Dont give up! Keep trying to spread the word about I-CAR, stated Jimmy Suppe. There are people out there who are interested in what I-CAR has to offer you just have to find them. Jimmys next plan is to gather all of the Gold Class Professionals in the area to pool their resources and work toward increasing the placements of the PSAs. Its very important to me that people are safe, explained Jimmy. Working with I-CAR helps to make things better for people; airing the PSAs helps the collision repair industry be more professional. Perhaps that is why Jimmy and his committee never turn down an opportunity to play the PSAs. They play them at all of their events, including area I-CAR classes. Jimmy knows his successes are not possible without the efforts of the committee members. I do and the committee follows, said Jimmy. They just want to go, go, go! I-CAR would like to recognize the Broward County committee members for their dedication:
