I-CAR EDUCATION FOUNDATION RECOGNIZES 2002 CRIN INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR The Collision Repair Instructors Network (CRIN) and the I-CAR Education Foundation are proud to announce the 2002 Instructor of the Year! The Honoree is Greg Brink, a collision repair instructor from Lake County Technical High School in Grayslake, Illinois.
Brink attended the DAVEA Career Center in Addison, Illinois and after high school he began working as a helper at a collision repair business. After a few years, he decided to become an instructor to help give back to the industry that helped him. "I think I can do more to help this industry by being an instructor, and not a working technician," said Brink. Brink is the second instructor from Lake County Technical High School to win this award. In 1996, Jeffrey Brierton, was Brink's co-teacher at the time. Brierton is now the Assistant Director for Personnel at the school. CRIN is sponsored by the I-CAR Education Foundation and is designed to facilitate the exchange of technical and professional information among collision repair instructors, school administrators, and industry partners. "CRIN has helped me meet other instructors from around the country and I enjoy talking to them, sharing ideas, and knowing that I can get help from any of them," said Brink. The selection of Brink for this award was made from a list of several other quality candidates. The final selection was made by the Executive Committee of the Education Foundation's Board of Trustees. The Executive Committee consists of:
In addition to serving as a collision repair instructor for a program that is ASE certified to the NATEF standards, Brink is a very active I-CAR instructor in the South Central Region. "It has been a pleasure to serve on Greg's advisory committee at Lake County for the past three years. This experience keeps me closely aware of the challenges instructors like Greg face at the secondary level," said Ron Ray, Executive Director of the I-CAR Education Foundation. |
