I-CAR'S INTERNATIONAL ANNUAL MEETING QUICKLY APPROACHING

International Annual MeetingOnline event and hotel registration are available for
I-CAR's International Annual Meeting being held July 23-26, at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I-CAR's annual meeting is an important event that brings together leaders of the collision industry from across the United States and Canada to address current trends and issues. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about new products and technologies and share ideas with industry leaders.

Events to look forward to during the meeting include a welcome beach party and networking breakfast, giving attendees an opportunity to network and socialize with their peers in the collision industry; technical clinics presented by leading industry organizations; an I-CAR Education Foundation golf tournament and luncheon; the Jungle Queen River Boat Excursion and Luncheon; a Party Sport Fishing Tour; an Art Deco District Walking Tour Spouse Program; and an awards and recognition banquet.

LEW KINNEY & ASSOCIATES APPROVED AS NEWEST MEMBER OF I-CAR INDUSTRY TRAINING ALLIANCE

I-CAR Industry Training Alliance I-CAR welcomes Lew Kinney & Associates, of Centerburg, Ohio, as the newest member of the I-CAR Industry Training Alliance. Formed by I-CAR in 2000, the Alliance brings together technical training providers to continuously optimize the training efforts of the collision industry.

Upon application, students who successfully complete Lew Kinney & Associates' "Welding Training and Certification" program will be eligible to receive one Gold Class point. This approved program trains students on the proper procedures for welding sheet steel.

Gold Class points apply toward I-CAR's Gold Class Professionals and Platinum Individual programs. Through the Alliance, these programs have become training benchmarks for businesses and professionals in the collision industry.

All I-CAR training resources are now available to career and technical schools and colleges and industry training organizations participating in the Alliance. I-CAR also maintains a database that includes student records for all Alliance training programs. THE GREAT LAKES I-CAR EXTREME 2003 - A GOOD EXPERIENCE FOR ALL

The 2003 Great Lakes Extreme event took place at the Lansing Convention Center in Lansing, Michigan on April 11-12, 2003. This year's attendance more than doubled compared to last year's.

Six I-CAR Enhanced Delivery programs were conducted on Thursday, April 10 and Saturday, April 12 during this Extreme event. There were close to 60 students attending the classes, which is double the attendance of classes at last year's event.

Car-O-Liner, General Motors Corp, Fusor Repair Adhesives, DHI Equipment and Altra Products conducted the technical clinics offered on Friday. A trade show was also available for attendees on Friday and Saturday.

A reception took place on Friday night that was sponsored by PPG, Finish Master and Dupont. Weller Auto Parts of Grand Rapids, Michigan sponsored lunch for the attendees on Saturday.

A special thanks goes out to all the vendors that helped support this event including: Valspar Refinish, Greenleaf Acquisitions LLC, DHI Equipment, Universal Equipment, Kent Automotive, Schram Auto Parts, Altra Products, Weller Auto Parts, Painters Supply, Lord Corporation and Car-O-Liner.

The volunteers and instructors involved with this event need to be thanked for all of their hard work, dedication and time. The Extreme team includes: Ray Fisher of Courtesy Dodge, Leo Maki of Michigan Appraisal, Dennis Rivett of Allstate Insurance, Rod Timmins of Grand Ledge Ford, Dave Solmes of Dewey's Auto Body, Jim Witt of Jim's Collision and Steve Schmidt of State Farm Insurance.

ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS APPROVED FOR INDUSTRY TRAINING ALLIANCE

I-CAR Industry Training AllianceI-CAR has approved new programs from Martin Senour Paints and Sherwin-Williams Automotive Refinishes. Both providers have been approved for their Final Refinishing program. Upon application, students will be eligible to receive two Gold Class points for each of these programs.
