FALL DATES SET FOR ASE CERTIFICATION TEST REGISTRATION

Fall ASE certification tests will be offered on the evenings of November 13, 18 and 20, 2003, with a registration deadline of September 26 for all tests. The tests will be given at over 700 locations throughout the United States and Canada.

To become ASE-certified, students register for and take one or more of ASE's 40-plus exams. After passing at least one exam and providing proof of two years of relevant work experience, the automotive professional becomes ASE-certified. However, re-certification must take place every five years.

I-CAR and Industry Training Alliance training programs prepare collision repair professionals for ASE certification tests. A properly-trained automotive professional that has also completed the appropriate ASE certification(s) provides the credentials required to assure the vehicle owner that their vehicle will be properly repaired.

Registration information can be obtained by visiting the ASE web site, by calling the ASE toll-free information line at 877.ASE.TECH or ASE customer service at 703.669.6600, or by writing to:

A booth visitor is taught how to properly read an electronic estimate.

Earlier this summer, the I-CAR Northeast Ohio Committee set up an information booth in Mentor, Ohio's Great Lakes Mall and helped create additional public awareness of the importance of proper collision repair training and I-CAR.

Over the course of the weekend, 250 mall shoppers that visited the booth were presented with information about the I-CAR Enhanced Delivery curriculum programs, the importance of proper collision repair training for vehicle repairs and were taught how to read an electronic estimate. Visitors were also informed of the Gold Class Professionals program and what it signifies when a business has earned this achievement.

Overall, the event was a great success and the committee is planning additional future events.

This event could not have taken place without the sponsors, which included:

  • Classic Autobody
  • D & S Autobody
  • Fine Line Autobody and Towing
  • Frankie and Dylan's Collision
  • Highway CARSTAR
  • Mayfield Collision
  • State Farm Insurance Co.
