June 23, 1997 TWENTY NEW TEST SITES OPENED FOR I-CAR WELDING QUALIFICATION TEST (Rolling Meadows, IL) The I-CAR Automotive MIG Welding Qualification Test is now accessible to more technicians throughout the United States and Canada due to the opening of 20 new testing sites in the past year. Sites opened include: No. Alberta Institute of Technology - Edmonton, AB The following testing sites are expected to open by the fall of 1997: Parkland College - Champaign, IL The I-CAR Automotive MIG Welding Qualification Test measures a technician's ability to perform automotive welding repairs. Welds must pass both visual and destructive tests. To date over 5000 technicians throughout the United States and Canada have successfully completed the I-CAR Welding Qualification Test. During the next year, the primary focus for opening new sites will be the eastern United States.
