August 29, 1997 I-CAR RECOGNIZES SUPPORTERS AT ANNUAL MEETING (Rolling Meadows) I-CAR recognized key supporters during its International Annual Meeting in Pittsburgh, July 9 - 13. Instructor of the Year Awards and Founders Awards were given to Volunteers and Instructors within each of the I-CAR US Regions and Canada. Instructor of the Year Awards were presented to: Canada John Hudoklin Insurance Corporation of British Columbia North Central Scott Wheeler ABRA Auto Body and Glass Northeast Dan Frohlich ARS Automotive South Pacific Joe Kroeger Antelope Valley College South Central Roy Watkins Walker Career Center Southeast Wallace Wilson State Farm Insurance Company Southwest Jose Vargas Texas State Technical College Northwest Jim Jones California State Auto Association The Instructor of the Year Award is presented annually to the I-CAR Instructors who best represent I-CAR professionally in the classroom, personify a commitment to excellence, and show the benefits of keeping pace with technology. Founders Awards were presented to: Canada Svend Nielsen North Central Dennis Rivett Allstate Insurance Company Northeast Peter Fryzel Prudential Property and Casualty South Pacific Jimmy Contreras Auto Trend International South Central Randy Navin State Farm Insurance Company Southeast Guy Jenkins Allstate Insurance Company Southwest Nelsie Austin State Farm Insurance Company Northwest Richard W. Griffin Safeco Insurance Company Immediate Past Chair William H. Mayer Government Employees Ins. Co. The Founders Award is given annually to those individuals who have most exemplified the I-CAR Volunteer spirit. Recipients received a gold ring casted with "I-CAR".
