NEW ADDITIONS TO I-CAR'S UNIFORM PROCEDURES FOR COLLISION REPAIR (UPCR)

(Rolling Meadows, IL) I-CAR will be adding 24 new procedures and valuable information from four new sources to the Uniform Procedures for Collision Repair (UPCR) for the April 1998 issue. Procedures have been added in the following content areas: Moveable Glass; Stationary Glass; Drivetrain; Fuel; Instrument Panel; Exhaust; Lamps; Trim and Hardware.

In addition to the product-specific information from Sherwin-Williams, Martin Senour and Protech, this issue will include product information and material safety data sheets from Crest Industries, Lord Corporation, and Urethane Supply. Information on salvage parts, from the Automotive Recyclers Associations (ARA), will also be included.

"Crest Industries, Inc. is proud to participate in I-CAR's UPCR program. We believe these uniform repair procedures will be valuable supplements to the I-CAR training courses, which Crest actively supports. The UPCR easy-to-use electronic format provides uniform repair practices, product data and MSDS that will help assure quality repairs and satisfied customers," said John Bobak, President of Crest Industries.

"Automotive Recyclers Association (ARA) is very pleased to have provided this additional information to UPCR in the hopes that it will add to the knowledge base and help those in the repair industries better appreciate the availability and quality represented by the recycled OEM part," said William Steinkuller, Executive Vice President of the Automotive Recyclers Association.

An annual subscription of UPCR, with quarterly issues of new and updated procedures, is $295 in the United States, $370 in Canada, and $500 in new Zealand. A $50 discount is available to Gold Class Professionals. A $50 discount is also available to members of participating key Collision Industry associations. Call your association to find out if you qualify, or ask them to sign up.

To order UPCR, please contact I-CAR Customer Care at 800.422.7872 (800.422.7872), or download the order form from the I-CAR web site at www.i-car.com. In Canada, call 1-800-565-ICAR (1-800-565-4227). In New Zealand, call 07-849-0159.
