June 1, 1998 I-CAR PRODUCES SECOND SHADETREE MECHANIC EPISODE (Rolling Meadows, IL) I-CAR, in conjunction with Cinetel Productions, recently produced a second episode of the Shadetree Mechanic, a popular weekly cable television program on The Nashville Network (TNN) that addresses vehicle maintenance and repair for auto enthusiasts. I-CAR produced this half-hour episode, called "Modern Automobile Body Repair," to inform consumers how complex the collision repair process is today, and that it takes trained technicians to properly repair a collision-damaged vehicle. The episode also addresses what the Gold Class Professionals, designation means and how it benefits consumers. Production took place on May 7th at Tennessee Collision Repair in Alcoa, TN. Brenda Maples and David Maples are the president and co-owner respectively of the 25,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility that has been Gold Class since 1991. Hosts of the Shadetree Mechanic, Dave Bowman and Sam Memmolo, are both ASE-certified technicians and have years of hands-on experience in the automotive field. During the episode, Dave and Sam walk the viewer through the repair steps that must take place after a vehicle has been in a collision. "Modern Automobile Body Repair" covers everything from the damage analysis performed when a collision-damaged vehicle is first brought to the facility, to the finishing touches after the vehicle has been refinished. "The Shadetree Mechanic is just one more consumer awareness program I-CAR is involved in that benefits Gold Class Professionals businesses and the Industry," said Dave Heckeler, I-CAR Director of Marketing and Field Operations. "We're very proud of this episode because it really informs the consumer how technical the collision repair process is today, and that it's important to choose a quality business to repair a collision-damaged vehicle." "Modern Automobile Body Repair" is expected to reach approximately five million viewers and will air on the following dates and times on TNN*: June 20, 1998 at 5:30 p.m. EST June 21, 1998 at 9:30 a.m. EST Saturday, Sept. 19th at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 20th at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26th at 1:30 p.m. * please check your local listings as air dates and times are subject to change.
