Current Events/News: I-CAR Press Releases: 1998 Press Releases August 31, 1998 20TH CENTURY INSURANCE COMPANY PURCHASES I-CAR'S UNIFORM PROCEDURES FOR COLLISION REPAIR (UPCR) FOR MATERIAL DAMAGE AND QUALITY CONTROL STAFF (Rolling Meadows, IL) 20th Century Insurance Company has contracted to purchase copies of UPCR to be used by its material damage and quality control staff. This was announced at the I-CAR International Annual Meeting on July 31, 1998. "We at 20th Century view consistency and standardization in estimating practices to be a crucial part of the entire collision repair process. I-CAR's UPCR will provide us with a vital tool in achieving that goal," said John Bierer, Property Claims Manager Material Damage, 20th Century Insurance Company. "This is a very important event for the industry and for UPCR. 20th Century Insurance Company is to be commended for being the first insurance company to provide UPCR to its entire material damage staff. This will go a long way to ensuring the consistency and quality of damage estimates," said Dave Heckeler, Director of Marketing and Field Operations.
