August 31, 1998 TOYOTA AND LEXUS COLLISION REPAIR MANUALS TO BE INCLUDED IN I-CAR'S UNIFORM PROCEDURES FOR COLLISION REPAIR (UPCR) (Rolling Meadows, IL) Toyota Motor Sales USA, Inc. has agreed to provide Toyota and Lexus Collision Repair Manuals to be included in I-CAR's Uniform Procedures for Collision Repair. I-CAR, announced this exciting new addition to UPCR at the I-CAR International Annual Meeting held in Lake Buena Vista, FL, July 30 - August 2. Toyota is the first vehicle manufacturer to supply information to UPCR. Toyota and Lexus Collision Repair Manuals will be included in UPCR starting with the January 1999 release. "To me, the Toyota and Lexus information added to UPCR is a win, win, win for everybody. It is certainly good for Toyota to get the information out into the Industry. It's good for I-CAR to have comprehensive OEM information included in UPCR, and it's good for the repairers and consumers, because they benefit with better quality factory-approved repair procedures," said Roger Foss, National Body Shop Development and Technician Recruiting Manager, Toyota Motor Sales USA, Inc. Eventually, UPCR will contain Toyota and Lexus Collision Repair Manuals for vehicles produced from 1981 to the present, however, not all of the manuals will be available by the January 1999 release. The January release of UPCR, featuring this valuable information, can be previewed at NACE in December. "I-CAR considers this a real breakthrough in our effort to make UPCR the collision repair information source for the Industry," said Tom Mack, Executive Vice President of I-CAR. "To have a company participating in UPCR, such as Toyota, which is so committed to ensuring their vehicles are repaired properly, is a real plus for I-CAR and UPCR." An annual subscription of UPCR, with quarterly issues of new and updated procedures, is $295 in the United States and $370 in Canada. A $50 discount is available to Gold Class Professionals".
