I-CAR ANNOUNCES PRICE INCREASES

(Rolling Meadows, IL) I-CAR announced today that it will be adjusting the prices of its courses after holding the line on any price increases for the past three years. The new prices, effective February 28, 1999, are:

$50 per I-CAR Discount Coupon for Gold Class businesses

$55 per I-CAR Discount Coupon for non-Gold Class businesses

$70 at the door

Purchasing I-CAR Discount Coupons provides substantial cost savings of $20 per student unit for Gold Class businesses and $15 for non-Gold Class businesses. Coupons purchased at the current price (pre-February 28, 1999) will continue to be honored at all I-CAR courses.

Tom Mack, the Executive Vice President of I-CAR, stated that "Since I-CAR's beginnings in 1979, it has continually priced its training far below other training providers. And in fact, I-CAR courses have actually become considerably less expensive over the years. If the inflation rate experienced since I-CAR's inception would be applied to I-CAR's original price, the current price would be $90.86 per course unit – about 82% more than the new 1999 Gold Class price for I-CAR Discount Coupons. I-CAR has been able to achieve this remarkable price restraint by continually focusing on its mission of being a not-for-profit organization serving the training needs of the Collision Repair Industry."

Also effective February 28, 1999, the price of the I-CAR Automotive GMA (MIG) Welding Qualification Test will be adjusted to $240, or four (4) I-CAR Discount Coupons. The retest price will be adjusted to $120, or two (2) I-CAR Discount Coupons.

Also being initiated is an adjustment in the Gold Class Professionals annual fees to $150, effective January 1, 1999. These fees will consist of an administration and application processing fee of $50 and a program fee of $100. This is the first fee increase for the Gold Class program since its inception in 1990.

I-CAR, founded in 1979, is an international, not-for-profit, training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety, and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of consumers.
