Current Events/News: I-CAR Press Releases: 2000 Press Releases
March 23, 2000 I-CAR 2000 REGIONAL CONFERENCES (Rolling Meadows, IL) In February, I-CAR held Regional Conferences in four locations across the country. Each region hosted a welcome reception to give all in attendance a chance to visit with old friends and meet new ones. The conferences provided an excellent opportunity for I-CAR Instructors, Committee Members, Volunteers, and Staff to discuss important topics and issues with other Industry professionals. This year the conferences included demonstrations of I-CARs new Enhanced Delivery programs by the Instructor Training Manager and select Instructors. Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss key issues related to the introduction of these new programs. The Gold Class Professionals program requirements were discussed, and information on the new Platinum Individual program was also presented. As always, each Regional Conference had its own unique receptions, banquets and award ceremonies to recognize and thank all of the hard-working I-CAR Volunteers and Instructors in each region. Some highlights unique to each region: The Northwest and South Pacific Regions held a joint conference at the Flamingo Hilton Reno in Nevada. I-CAR Board Chairman Rick Tuuri of ADP/Claims Solutions Group offered a rousing luncheon presentation and updated the group on the past, present and future direction of I-CAR. The Northeast and Southeast Regions held a joint conference at the Orlando Airport Marriott in Florida. Two individuals from the Northeast Region received customized marble plaques: Leo Bussiere of Nationwide Insurance in Frenchtown, New Jersey, for Most Valuable Player and Barry Gilden of Allstate Insurance in Annapolis, Maryland, for Top Performing Instructor. The North Central and South Central Regions held a joint conference at the Chateau on the Lake in Branson, Missouri. The North Central Region presented Distinguished Service Awards to the following Volunteers: Ted Ernst Port Huron, MI; Dan Shymanski St. Louis, MO; Chris Shelton Springfield, MO; Mike Ford Kansas City, MO; and Ken Kempfer Appleton, WI. I-CAR, founded in 1979, is an international, not-for-profit, training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.
