November 17, 2000 NEW TECH CENTRE HELPS DRIVE I-CAR'S OUTWARD VISION
The new facility has 6,500-sq. ft. of shop space including a prep deck, mixing room and downdraft spray booth. In comparison, the previous shop space was only 800-sq. ft. The additional shop space will provide I-CAR with greater resources to increase research, development and validation of collision repair training programs. As Tom McGee, I-CAR Technical Director stated "I-CAR works with vehicle manufacturers and other organizations within the Collision Industry on various projects. The ability to have the space to perform repairs in a safe, modern facility are critical for I-CAR to develop up-to-date training programs that meet the expectations of the Industry." An additional benefit of the larger Tech Centre is that I-CAR can now move the Fulfillment Centre operations to Appleton, WI. A warehouse area is part of the new building. These improvements benefit I-CAR by both increasing efficiencies and decreasing costs. The expansion also allows for future growth opportunities. I-CAR, founded in 1979, is an international, not-for-profit, training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.
