Current Events/News: I-CAR Press Releases January 29, 2003 I-CAR'S 2003 REGIONAL CONFERENCES BEGIN WITH GREAT SUCCESS ROLLING MEADOWS, IL - January 29, 2002 -There is still time to participate in I-CAR® Regional Conferences, which are a unique opportunity for volunteers and instructors to share ideas on how to make their work with I-CAR more productive and enjoyable. For individuals not yet involved with I-CAR, the conferences provide the latest information on I-CAR and its products and services. They also offer a chance to meet the volunteers and industry professionals who make I-CAR a success. Annual awards banquets to honor I-CAR volunteers and instructors are always a highlight of the events. Although a few regional conferences have already concluded, a variety of interesting activities have been planned for the remaining conferences. Online registration and detailed agendas for the remaining I-CAR Regional Conferences are available at www.i-car.com. The registration fee for each conference is $75 for full meeting attendees, and $25 for spouses/guests. The I-CAR North Central Region held its regional conference on January 10-11, 2003 in Dearborn, Michigan. This successful conference included an Instructor Day with a tour of the General Motors Knowledge Center and Collision Repair Technical Center, a general session where speakers presented various topics, and an awards banquet where volunteers and instructors were recognized for their efforts. The I-CAR South Central Region held its conference in Chicago, Illinois on January 17-18, 2003. Events during the conference included an instructor and volunteer meeting, a welcome reception, I-CAR International presentations, regional discussion, and a childrens banquet. At the conclusion of the conference, awards were presented to:
The recipients of the Distinguished Service Award for the I-CAR South Central Region include: Fran Dortan, Joy Haggerty, Carl Samuels, Keith Eichensehr, Rick Schneider, Teresa Kostick, Roy Watkins, Konrad Hacker, Wildy Kerby, Steve Slavick, Paul Skip Rozum, and DeLee Powell. I-CAR would like to congratulate award winners, and thank the volunteers, instructors, and committees for all their efforts and continued support. I-CAR, founded in 1979, is an international, not-for-profit, training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.
