Current Events/News: I-CAR Press Releases February 26, 2003 I-CAR HOLDS INFORMATIVE INDUSTRY FORUM IN CHICAGO LAND AREA ROLLING MEADOWS, IL - February 26, 2003 - On Wednesday, February 12, 2003, over 80 attendees fought through the brisk, cold Chicago weather to attend the I-CAR Industry Forum at the Hyatt Rosemont in Rosemont, Illinois. This informative meeting provided an excellent opportunity for group discussion and interaction with representatives from various segments of the collision repair industry. I-CAR International Board of Directors Chairman Roger Wright brought the meeting to order and I-CAR Executive Vice President and CEO Tom McGee began with a general I-CAR update. I-CAR Marketing Director Steve Johnson then presented the audience with an overview of the value proposition survey results. During the morning session, Steve Johnson also presented information on the Gold Class Professionals and Platinum Individual programs and gave an update on the I-CAR Industry Training Alliance. I-CAR Technical Development Manager Jason Bartanen and I-CARs Manager of Tech Centre Operations Lori Barrington were also in attendance. Jason presented an update about the most current and upcoming I-CAR Enhanced Delivery training programs available and also ways of how I-CAR is working on alternate delivery of training. Lori provided the audience with the latest information about the I-CAR web site and the e-newsletter. The group then adjourned for lunch and returned to the meeting for open group discussion. Attendees brought up their various questions, concerns, and issues during this time, which were answered by the I-CAR staff. A presentation was then given on the most current information about the I-CAR Education Foundation. Updates were given on the Foundations work with Enhanced Delivery training programs and the career and technical schools and colleges within the Industry Training Alliance. The floor was then opened up to more general discussion and other related business while the I-CAR staff and Executive Staff fielded additional questions. Overall the event was a great success and was well received by those who attended! I-CAR, founded in 1979, is an international, not-for-profit, training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.
