Current Events/News: I-CAR Press Releases November 1, 2004 TOYOTA COLLISION REPAIR AND REFINISH CERTIFICATION PROGRAM RECOGNIZES I-CAR TRAINING PROGRAMS ROLLING MEADOWS, IL - November 1, 2004 - Selected I-CAR training programs are recognized by the Toyota Collision Repair and Refinish Certification Program in the United States. Toyota CR&R technicians have the opportunity to complete either the I-CAR programs specifically recognized through this relationship for the Toyota certified level, or attend the Toyota delivered training programs. To gain the Toyota master certification level, both I-CAR and Toyota training programs must be completed. For Toyota, this relationship will greatly increase the availability and convenience of training on the collision repair of Toyota vehicles as I-CAR has approximately 800 training locations throughout North America. Technicians may have reduced travel expenses and be able to spend less time away from their dealerships and businesses as a greater variety of classes and locations become available. I-CAR Executive Vice President and CEO Tom McGee said, "I-CAR and the collision industry have received tremendous support from the Toyota organization for many years. We are honored to be able to have the I-CAR training programs included in the Toyota certification program and to continue with this relationship. The inclusion of I-CAR training in these types of programs also demonstrates the industry’s confidence in the I-CAR instructors and volunteers."
