Current Events/News: I-CAR Press Releases November 30, 2004 I-CAR BREAKS GROUND FOR NEW WORLD HEADQUARTERS
ROLLING MEADOWS, IL - November 30, 2004 - Ground breaking for the new I-CAR World Headquarters facility took place November 9, 2004. Nick Notte, Chairman of the I-CAR International Board of Directors and Tom McGee, I-CAR Executive Vice President and CEO performed the ceremony that marks the beginning of construction of the new I-CAR World Headquarters facility. The new 25,000 sq. ft. building, to be located in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, will greatly increase I-CAR's current capabilities and with the ability to expand an additional 15,000 sq. ft., it will allow for future growth opportunities. Also included in the new facility will be a classroom that seats nearly 100 people to assist in training professionals and hosting industry events. I-CAR plans to relocate to the new facility in August, 2005. Chairman Nick Notte said, "To see an organization which was founded by the collective industry move forward as quickly as I-CAR has in the past two years is amazing. The current strength of I-CAR leadership and a continued intensified industry support is the formula that we've needed to not only realize the I-CAR Vision here in North America, but to expand that to the rest of the world. I-CAR has truly become an organization of action. That has been proven through I-CAR announcing their move to a world headquarters at the recent annual meeting and only 90 days later, breaking ground for the new facility. I fully expect this momentum to carry I-CAR forward in the years to come. The industry has enabled I-CAR to make this move and I congratulate all in it for recognizing the potential and investing in our future." "The ground breaking for the I-CAR World Headquarters will help expand the idea of "international" in the I-CAR Vision for the future," noted I-CAR Immediate Past Chair Gene Hamilton. "As I conclude my last year on the I-CAR Board, it is very apparent that I-CAR is heading in a positive direction for the entire industry and the organization's future is truly in the hands of extraordinary people." I-CAR Executive Committee Vice Chair Rod Enlow said, "With the turning of a shovel, the I-CAR home office entered a new era through the I-CAR World Headquarters ground breaking. State-of-the-art collision repair training programs will now showcase alongside a state-of-the-art facility. The 2005 completion of the new world headquarters provides testament to the continuing commitment I-CAR has for the entire collision industry." "Ground breaking for the new I-CAR World Headquarters is a testament to the enduring value of training that our forefathers believed was so important to the collision industry," noted I-CAR Executive Committee Secretary/Treasurer Robby Robbs. "While I-CAR has proven itself as an organization that provides technical training to the entire collision industry in North America, with continued vision, we are now positioned to bring that value to the entire world." I-CAR Executive Committee member-at-large Rick Ciesla said, "I-CAR is truly making a difference in the collision industry and also accomplishing something very special by involving today's youth through the Education Foundation's efforts. This new facility will allow I-CAR to better fulfill the needs of our current customers and those of the industry's future. It's exciting to be part of an organization that is prepared to provide the world with not only what it needs, but also what it wants…well-trained, professional technicians." I-CAR, founded in 1979, is an international, not-for-profit, training organization dedicated to improving the quality, safety and efficiency of auto collision repair for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.
