I-CAR QUALFICATION TESTS HIGHLIGHTED ON MOTORWEEK'S GOSS' GARAGE

Hoffman Estates, IL - October 31, 2007 - Tune in and watch as I-CAR Qualification Tests will be highlighted on Goss' Garage, a segment of the television program MotorWeek, which is scheduled to air on Saturday, November 10, 2007. I-CAR CEO & President Tom McGee, the featured guest on the program, speaks with host Pat Goss about the importance of properly trained technicians and the need to complete the hands-on, skills based qualification test for the benefit of the consumer repair.

Pat Goss explains, "As a result of my television and radio shows, columns and seminars I get hundreds of questions regarding the procedures that should be employed during collision repair. I also get to see many vehicles which are brought to my shop for post-repair inspection. Although most look good on the outside many suffer from poor quality work in areas not seen by the owner. One of the most critical parts of structural-assembly replacement is proper welding. This is where many techs fall far short of the quality needed for a safe repair. Most of the problems I see are the result of a lack of proper training. Because weld is the "glue" that holds everything together I would only accept welding performed by a trained professional. The fact is, proper restoration of both appearance and the safety features found on modern vehicles requires the hands and minds of specially trained repair technicians. Because the issues are so important, I would demand that my car be repaired by a shop that has earned the I-CAR Gold Class Professionals designation."

Tom McGee said, "We are all aware of the critical importance that proper welding has on the structural integrity of the vehicle. We are very honored to again participate in this segment of Goss' Garage and help explain the importance of industry professionals completing an I-CAR Qualification Test and demonstrating competency in welding. Pat Goss, through this television show and other media that he is involved in, promotes the positive aspects of our industry to the consumer while at the same time helping to educate them on how to get their vehicle properly repaired."

Be sure to tune in on Saturday, November 10, 2007 to view this episode! For additional information about Goss' Garage, MotorWeek, and to view a list of your local television stations that air this television program, visit www.motorweek.org.
