I-CAR RELEASES NEW DAMAGE ANALYSIS COURSE TO THE INDUSTRY ON MARCH 1

Hoffman Estates, IL - March 1, 2010 – I-CAR, The Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair has introduced a new classroom training course, Advanced Material Damage Analysis (DAM08), throughout North America. Inter-industry professionals will have the opportunity to learn the latest information about damage analysis for advanced materials, collision energy management, and special considerations for these materials; which can lead to the most educated repair vs. replace decisions.

“As more advanced materials are used in today’s vehicles, identification of those materials becomes even more important to a complete and safe repair,” said Jeff Peevy, I-CAR Director of Field Operations “This class will be valuable to anyone writing estimates and building repair plans on newer vehicles.”

To meet industry demand, nearly 200 classes have been scheduled throughout North America and additional courses are being added daily. Inter-industry interest in advanced systems continues to grow as repairers and insurers look for ways to identify and work on vehicles with advanced materials.

  • Identify advanced materials used for vehicle construction and describe their characteristics and applications
  • Explain how advanced vehicle construction materials affect collision energy management
