PORSCHE ANNOUNCES I-CAR TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR TECHNICIANS

Hoffman Estates, IL - October 6, 2010 –I-CAR, the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair has announced that Porsche now requires I-CAR classroom training, the I-CAR Steel GMA (MIG) Welding Qualification Series, and the I-CAR Structural Parts Steel Welding Qualification Series as components of the “Porsche Approved Collision Center Program”. Collision repair facilities that meet all standards of the program will be recognized as Porsche Approved Collision Centers.
Mike Kukavica, Collision Repair Technology Instructor said, “We are excited to be able to provide Porsche technicians with up-to-date collision repair training from I-CAR as part of the “Porsche Approved Collision Center Program”. With a strong background in some of today’s most commonly used materials and procedures, as well completion of two of I-CAR’s Welding Qualifications Series, technicians will be well-equipped to complete Porsche training and perform quality repairs on Porsche vehicles.”

Individuals will receive I-CAR training on some of today’s most common collision repair procedures, as well as comprehensive welding instructions that includes theory, hands-on practice, and the I-CAR Steel GMA (MIG) Welding Qualification Test and I-CAR Structural Parts Steel Welding Qualification Test. I-CAR training opportunities are offered as either an instructor-led course taught in the classroom or an online course.

A strong foundation in the collision repair process will provide Porsche technicians with the most current training information available and prepare them for their Porsche-specific training.
