5&2, 10&2 Requirements

The Gold Class Professionals and Platinum Individual designations are designed to help the collision industry meet its changing needs. As technology and repair procedures change, ongoing training provides the necessary preparation to meet the challenges facing the collision industry today.

Both the Platinum Individual and Gold Class Professionals programs require tested and ongoing training. The point requirements can be easily remembered by thinking “5&2, 10&2,” which represent the initial point requirements and the ongoing training needed for both recognition programs.

For a business to initially qualify for the Gold Class Professionals designation, all employees must have earned 5 tested points; to initially qualify for the Platinum Individual program, all applicants must have earned 10 tested points. Maintaining either designation will require 2 points of ongoing training annually.

What is a tested point?

A tested point is earned though a written post test or a hands-on I-CAR Qualification test. See the FAQ below for more details.
