PLEASE NOTE: Effective January 1, 2007, position-related point requirements will no longer apply for new applicants. New applicants must follow 5&2 requirements to qualify.

Only grandfathered Gold Class designated businesses will need to follow position-related point requirements for their 2007 renewal. All renewals after 2007 will require 2 points of ongoing training annually.

Collision Repair Instructor

Instructs students in proper collision repair techniques involving metal or plastic repairs, repair or replacement of structural parts, alignment and mechanical repairs, and damage estimating.

Platinum Individual Requirement:
11 Points

Combination/Lead Instructor

Mechanical Repair Instructor

Instructs students in proper mechanical repair procedures including electrical, fuel, suspension, drivetrain, exhaust and emission, braking, safety, air conditioning, and cooling systems.

Refinish Instructor

Instructs students in proper paint refinishing procedures and final detailing.

Personnel not directly involved with the collision repair instruction process have no Gold Class point requirements. Examples of these positions are:

Manager/Department Head

Manages and oversees the department's activities such as lesson planning and instruction. Managers or department heads who are not directly involved in curriculum or instruction. Must have a lead instructor in place.

Office Support Personnel

Performs clerical, secretarial and/or administrative duties, including answering phones, typing correspondence, preparing reports, data entry, etc. May perform invoicing procedures on vehicles repaired in the school facilities.
