Approved Career and Technical Schools

To become a member of the Industry Training Alliance, a career and technical school or college must use the I-CAR Live curriculum, offered by the I-CAR Education Foundation. In addition, either the school must be ASE-certified to the NATEF standards or provide documentation to support proof of a Provincial apprentice program, or when using Live, the instructors must have successfully completed the I-CAR Instructor Qualification Workshop. Instructors must also successfully complete at least one (1) Instructor Training Evaluation (ITE) before the school will be approved for membership into the Industry Training Alliance. Before applying for the I-CAR points, a student must receive the student CDs for the programs that he/she wants points for.

The approved career and technical school list is divided into three (3) Levels depending on a school’s participation level in the Industry Training Alliance.  An explanation about what each Level means is listed below.

Click the links below to go to the specific level:

LEVEL I

Schools that are in Level I have met all the criteria to join the Industry Training Alliance. In addition, schools in Level I have met all the continuing criteria/requirements and have had students apply for I-CAR points within the past 24 months. View Level I Schools

LEVEL II

Schools that are in Level II have met the initial criteria to join the Industry Training Alliance. The school has purchased at least ten student CDs and the instructors have taken at least one (1) Instructor Training Evaluation (ITE) which are two necessary steps to take before points can be awarded.  However, schools that are in Level II have not had students apply for I-CAR points within the last 24 months. LEVEL III

Schools that are in Level III have met the initial criteria to join the Industry Training Alliance. Student CDs still need to be purchased and/or Instructor Training Evaluations (ITEs) still need to be taken before any students can earn I-CAR points. View Level III School
