3-Steps to becoming an I-CAR Gold Class Professionals® Business

Gold Class ProfessionalsEnsure your business receives the recognition it deserves

The steps outlined below explain how to begin planning training for your role and how to apply for the I-CAR Gold Class Professionals® designation.

  1. Login to your myI-CAR account to access the business Gold Class Status Report using the I-CAR Training Manager tool. (To update your employee listing, please contact I-CAR Customer Care.)

  2. Verify employee’s roles to begin planning role-relevant training.

  3. Designate a minimum of one I-CAR Platinum Individual® as a Role Representative in the four main roles. All other employees involved in the repair process must complete two points of role-relevant training annually.

Once all training requirements have been met by designated Role Representatives and all other employees involved in the collision repair process, complete and submit the I-CAR Gold Class Professionals® application to officially receive your designation.

Planning During the Transition Period – Important Dates

Businesses can continue to qualify for the I-CAR Gold Class Professionals® business designation under the former “5&2” rule until December 31, 2011.

It is suggested that any new training taken during that time be specific to an individual’s defined role. Beginning January 2012, the I-CAR® Professional Development Program™ will be the only option for renewal for all I-CAR Gold Class Professionals® businesses.

Currently, I-CAR has begun to align I-CAR Platinum Individual® expiration dates for all Role Representatives with the expiration date of the I-CAR Gold Class Professionals® business designation. New I-CAR Platinum Individual® certificates, with an updated expiration date, are being distributed to individuals that are employed by a business that has recently renewed. If you have not yet declared role(s) and/or designated Role Representatives for your business, please contact I-CAR Customer Care for assistance.
