New for 2012! Changes to the way you register and pay for training will simplify your registration process, improve your classroom experience, and update your records more quickly.

Points to Credit Hours – I-CAR has made it easier for you to calculate the cost of classes. With the maturity of the I-CAR® Professional Development Program™, the full transition to knowledge competency fulfillment is taking effect in 2012.

With this, the I-CAR traditional “points” system has been retired. Effective January 1, 2012, all courses carry specified credit hours. Class pricing is now simply the price per credit hour multiplied by the credit hours per class. Generally speaking, three (3) credit hours replace one (1) point for a regular I-CAR class. The typical online course that was one-quarter (.25) point in 2011 is now one (1) credit hour on average.

2012 Pricing – Under this new system, Gold Class pricing for lives classes will remain the same and will be reduced for online classes. More information on 2012 pricing is available here.

Pre-registration – In order to decrease paperwork in the classroom and promote the timely start of classes, students are required to register prior to the start of class. I-CAR recommends that students register up to one week in advance to ensure that the instructor has ample time to prepare class materials. Online registration is the simplest and most cost-effective way to pre-register, but assisted registration is still available through I-CAR Customer Care at a slightly higher price.

Pre-payment – To save you time and simplify the payment process, the sale of discount coupon codes ended on December 31, 2011. Previously purchased discount coupon codes can still be used for payment when pre-registering. Other accepted forms of payment are credit cards, electronic check, and e-codes.

e-codes:

• e-codes are electronic coupon codes that can be used as payment for pre-registration. e-codes will be sold instead of coupons in 2012.
• e-codes can be purchased in quantities of 10+ for live training and 30+ for online training.
• e-codes for live training are easily identifiable by all numeric codes.
• e-codes for online training are easily identifiable with the starting letters “OLT”.

• To redeem e-codes, enter it in the “coupon” field in the shopping cart.

Why the Change?
I-CAR's goal is to reduce administrative time in the classroom, shorten the time it currently takes to post the credit you've earned, and simplify the course registration process. By moving all registration and payment online and in advance of the classes you take, delays due to processing and administrative duties will be minimized. This will allow I-CAR to process tests and post your earned credit to your training record more quickly.
