The Enhanced Curriculum program from I-CAR meets NATEF requirements and allows teachers the ability to customize their own training program and offer more breadth of knowledge instead of training in depth for a particular technician role. Although this curriculum option does not result in Platinum level training, students can take I-CAR Equivalency Testing to try and earn additional credits toward Platinum designation.

Careers in Collision Repair

When you attend a school that offers the I-CAR Professional Development Program Education Edition (PDP-EE), you can choose to pursue credentials as a Non-Structural Technician and/or a Refinish Technician. However, I-CAR provides role-relevant training paths for other collision repair careers as well including Estimators, Steel Structural Technicians, Electrical/Mechanical Technicians and more.

I-CAR develops around 20 new and revised courses every year, working closely with automotive manufacturers and suppliers to develop training on the latest model vehicles, new materials, and evolving repair procedures.
