Maintaining Insurance Gold Class

The Insurance PDP provides insurers the opportunity to maintain some appraiser staff at lower ProLevels, while maintaining their Gold Class designation. This aligns the Insurance PDP with insurer business strategies and accommodates the staffing realities of high-growth insurers.

Year 1
Once 60% of the Auto Physical Damage Appraisers achieve Platinum ProLevel 1 status, the business is no longer on the Road to Gold™ and is recognized as Gold Class.

Year 2
80% of the Auto Physical Damage Appraisers must complete ProLevel 1 requirements, while 50% of all Auto Physical Damage Appraisers must complete ProLevel 2 requirements.

Year 3
80% of the Auto Physical Damage Appraisers must complete ProLevel 1 and ProLevel 2 requirements, while 40% of all Auto Physical Damage Appraisers must complete ProLevel 3 requirements.

After Year 3
All Auto Physical Damage Appraisers must maintain 80% overall of training requirements. In addition, each Auto Physical Damage Appraiser must maintain their training requirements by achieving the next (or subsequent) ProLevel they are working towards by the annual renewal date, or, once they have achieved ProLevel 3 status, by taking six credit hours of annual role-relevant training by the annual renewal date.

Example 1: An APDA that has completed 6 hours of annual training but has not completed ProLevel 1 will NOT be counted in the 80% of individuals.

Example 2: An APDA whose next ProLevel is 2 or higher and has completed 6 hours of annual training will be counted in the 80% of individuals.

Annual Renewal Date Rules

Because an insurance business may have multiple appraisers at various ProLevels of training, I-CAR simplifies renewal dates by designating one annual renewal date for the entire business if requested. All employee annual renewal dates will align to the business’ annual renewal date.

The annual renewal date for the business will be the date that 60% of Auto Physical Damage Appraisers achieve Platinum ProLevel 1.

All annual renewal dates revert to the end of the month.

Regaining Gold Class Designation

Once its appraiser staff has completed Gold Class designation, the business can regain Gold Class once its staff has completed training in accordance with training requirements.

The business’ annual renewal date will change to this new date. This applies no matter how long the gap in training, and even if an appraiser is replaced with a different employee.
