Gold Class® Policies

Additional Training

Following the In-Shop Assessment, a shop may need to send employees to training to meet all Gold Class requirements. Any needed training is included in the price, provided no roster changes occurred following the event. See the “Roster Changes” section of this policy for additional details.

Applying for Gold Class

A shop that participates in the In-Shop Knowledge Assessment and subsequent training does not need to submit a separate Gold Class application once the shop meets training requirements. By participating in the In-Shop Knowledge Assessment, the shop agrees to the terms listed on the Gold Class application, which can be found on the I-CAR website at: https://www.i-car.com/I-CAR-Applications/GoldClass_CR.aspx.

Financial Policies

Deposit

All In-Shop Knowledge Assessment pricing is customized based on the Knowledge Area gaps within a shop. To receive a custom price, a shop must first provide a standard $995.00 deposit to I-CAR. This deposit will apply to the total purchase price for the In-Shop Knowledge Assessment, regardless of customer paying in full or deferring payments, over a 12 month period, per the I-CAR schedule. The deposit is refundable up to three business days prior to the scheduled In-Shop Knowledge Assessment event. The deposit will be processed using PayPal. Shops that provide a deposit are advised to read the privacy policies for PayPal

Roster Changes

If a shop has any changes to employees or training history:

• Prior to the In-Shop Knowledge Assessment pricing quote being agreed upon, I-CAR will generate a new quote to reflect current shop conditions.

• If a roster changes from the time the shop agrees to the In-Shop Knowledge Assessment price to the time the event occurs, I-CAR will update the shop roster in its’ database and calculate a one-time adjustment that will address the difference, in the form of a shop charge or shop partial refund. A one-time adjustment in price will occur after the assessment event. This adjustment will not affect monthly charges if a shop has selected the payment plan option. The adjustment will require the shop to sign the Financial Adjustment Form if the roster changes generate a price higher than the original price. No signature is required on the Financial Adjustment Form if the roster changes generate a price lower than the original price; an appropriate credit will automatically be issued.

• After the In-Shop Knowledge Assessment event, there will be no refunds for previously delivered assessments or training. If a roster change requires additional training to be completed, that training will need to be purchased à la carte. If a roster change requires additional Welding Training & Certification to be completed, that training will need to be purchased à la carte, and the welding assessment fee will be waived if the event occurs within 90 days of the previous welding shop assessment. No payment plan options will be available for à la carte purchases.

• If an employee leaves after the shop receives assessment or scheduled training, those registrations will remain with the shop and not the former employee.

Payment Plans

A payment plan will be available to shops that are not on a previously established payment plan with I-CAR. Payment plans will be broken into 12 equal payments,following the deposit. A 6% deferred payment fee will be added to the balance due.

A shop may pay off the balance at any time without penalty. Monthly payments will occur on the same day as the initial payment, each subsequent month until the balance is paid in full.

Shops that use the payment plan option are advised to read the privacy policies for PayPal. I-CAR will process all credit card charges through PayPal and only PayPal will store credit card information for monthly charges.

No Payment

If a shop payment is declined for a scheduled monthly charge (for any reason):

• The customer (shop) must clear up the payment by next scheduled monthly payment

• If payments are not up to date by next scheduled monthly payment the following actions will occur:

    o Gold Class status – Gold Class status would be changed to “suspended”

• Status will be reset accordingly once payments are current

If a shop payment declined for a pricing adjustment charge (for any reason):

• The customer (shop) must clear up the payment within 30 days

• If payments are not up to date within 30 days the following actions will occur:

   o Gold Class status – Gold Class status would be changed to “suspended”

• Status will be reset accordingly once payments are current

Length of Service

Any training needed for Gold Class achievement, and purchased as part of an In-Shop Knowledge Assessment, whether paid in full or through a payment plan, must be completed within one year of the first payment. If not completed within the year, any training needed to earn/maintain Gold Class or Platinum will need to be purchased à la carte. Any training not required for Gold Class that was added into the In-Shop Knowledge Assessment pricing package can be completed outside of the one year term following I-CAR training policies.

Refunds

I-CAR will not offer any refunds or “cash back” to a shop or its employees who have participated in the In-Shop Knowledge Assessment, whether redeemed or unredeemed, and/or whether satisfied or unsatisfied with the content, conduct, and/or results of the assessments. I-CAR will not offer any refunds or “cash back” once an In-Shop Knowledge Assessment has occurred.

Event Policies

Facility Reschedule

If an event reschedule is necessary, I-CAR must be notified at least 3 business days in advance. A new event will need to be requested.

Student Reschedule and No Show

If a student does not show for his/her shop’s scheduled event, the student will not be assessed. The student will need to train through I-CAR and/or Industry Training Alliance partners to meet his/her training requirements.

I-CAR Event Reschedule

If I-CAR has to reschedule the event, I-CAR will make every attempt to contact the shop as soon as possible once a reschedule has been deemed necessary.
