I-CAR TRAINING PROGRAMS

CRN Training Requirements

Many OEMs require or recommend I-CAR training for their Collision Repair Networks (CRNs). The Professional Development Program™ (PDP) offers a recognized path for this training, providing repair technicians with the knowledge and skills needed to perform complete, safe and quality repairs. Through the PDP, CRN participants may achieve Gold Class™ recognition and/or Welding Training & Certification™ -- providing the OEM with clear criteria for establishing vehicle repair quality expectations.

Contract Training Development & Delivery

I-CAR can collaborate with OEM training providers to develop and deliver role-relevant, cost-effective training solutions. OEMs may choose to take advantage of existing I-CAR training, or they may ask I-CAR to develop customized courses that complement their existing programs. Whatever your training needs, I-CAR has a solution.

Repairability Technical Support

I-CAR's Repairability Technical Support initiative is providing the industry with access to technical information that supports complete, safe and quality repairs. We do this through 4 key areas:

1. The Repairability Technical Support Portal, a comprehensive online source for collision repair information
2. Serving as a critical "linking pin" to connect OEMs with the collision repair industry
3. Repairability Summits that facilitate discussion on important repair issues
4. Industry Segment Advisory Councils (ISACs) that bring together industry leaders

Repairability Consulting

I-CAR provides technical and subject matter expertise to help OEMs enhance collision repair information and procedures, ultimately contributing to improved customer satisfaction and occupant safety. I-CAR can support the design, manufacture and continuous improvement of vehicles from an enhanced repairability perspective, working side-by-side with OEMs on design for repairability.

DO THE RIGHT THING WITH I-CAR TRAINING

I-CAR makes high-quality collision repair training accessible for your collision repair network. Trust I-CAR to help fill training gaps, reduce risk and improve the performance of your dealer repair facilities and network shops. Most importantly, because I-CAR training contributes to complete, safe and quality repairs, you'll improve customer safety -- which will help you gain the satisfaction and loyalty of vehicle owners.

VALUE OF I-CAR TRAINING

I-CAR Professional Development Program™ (PDP)

I-CAR's PDP offers role-relevant collision repair training that provides technicians with the knowledge and skills needed to perform complete, safe and quality repairs. Many OEMs require or recommend PDP training -- including Gold Class™ recognition and Welding Training & Certification™ for their Collision Repair Networks to ensure consumer safety and satisfaction.

Contract Training Development & Delivery

Because collision repair training is a core competency of I-CAR, many OEMs trust I-CAR to develop and deliver customized training for their dealer and collision repair networks. I-CAR is able to develop customized repair training/welding instruction programs for new vehicle models or other specific topics, or we can license existing content to be used in your own training curriculum.

Recent examples of customized, vehicle-specific training programs include the 2015 Ford F-150 Program and the Chevrolet Dealership Corvette Stingray Program.

Fast Track Training Programs

I-CAR's new fast track option is an accelerated program that provides intensive, hands-on training in a concentrated timeframe, helping shops to complete levels of training in a fraction of the typical time required. Through fast track, repair technicians can achieve ProLevel 1® Platinum™ recognition quickly and gain knowledge and skills that they can apply immediately when they return to the field. Repair facilities that participate with all Role Reps can achieve Gold Class™ and quickly gain a competitive edge.

Design with Repairability in Mind

As technology continues to evolve -- driving rapid innovation in vehicle construction, communication and advanced safety systems -- it's more important than ever to incorporate repairability into the design process.

Designing with repairability in mind has far-reaching buisness impacts, including occupant safety and consumer satisfaction. Repairable vehicles may retain greater residual value, which boosts brand loyalty. Repairability also has significant revenue impact, allowing you to make service parts available in configurations that minimize repair costs and repair intrusiveness.

With I-CAR's vision driving a commitment to facilitating complete, safe and quality repairs, I-CAR is the right partner to help you design and manufacture vehicles that are optimized for repairability.

REPAIRABILITY CONSULTING

Repairability Technical Support

I-CAR is committed to providing the industry with access to technical information that supports complete, safe and quality repairs. We do this primarily through our Repairability Technical Support (RTS) Portal, which provides a comprehensive online source of up-to-date information on collision repair, including:

- OEM-specific technical articles, bulletins and repair instructions
- Technical inquiry hotline
- Searchable online database of technical information

Fill Training Gaps with the Industry Standard

It's a fact: Repair facilities that train with the I-CAR Professional Development Program™ have shown improvements in cycle time and touch time, have higher customer satisfaction and report reduced supplement frequency. And Gold Class® shops significantly outperform non-Gold Class shops when measured by recognized evaluation reports such as Cyncast.

With I-CAR, similar results are within your reach. I-CAR can match your training program with the knowledge areas the industry has defined as necessary for collision repair, identify any gaps (and the I-CAR classes that can fill those gaps), and provide credit toward Gold Class for quality training your program provides. Contact I-CAR today to learn more about this free service to evaluate your training program.

PROGRAM EVALUATION

Start Training Today

It's easy to get started with I-CAR training. Simply create a myI-CAR account and you'll find all the tools and support you need to plan, track and manage the training for all of your staff.

Improve Training ROI

After as little as six months of PDP™ training, collision repair facilities that embraced training as a potential competitive advantage began to see huge gains in their business performance -- including up to 80% less rework and ZERO employee turnover. What could this sort of improvement mean for your business?

Gold Class® Recognition

Achieving Gold Class improves your confidence in the knowledge and skills of your technicians, your market presence, and your access to certain OEM and insurer networks.

Welding Training & Certification™

I-CAR makes welding training more accessible and affordable. And that's good, because with new vehicle materials hitting the market, proper welding techniques have never been more important.

Let's face it: Improper welds compromise vehicle structural integrity, which decreases occupant safety. Including Welding Training & Certification is the right thing to do.

I-CAR offers three welding courses: Steel, Steel Sectioning and Aluminu. And with I-CAR's reduced pricing, the more technicians you train, the more you save!

OEMs with Current I-CAR Contract Training Programs

I-CAR provides specialized training programs for several dealer networks, allowing OEMs to distribute customized, high-quality education tailored around specific repair topics. These courses may also be available to the general industry.
