A Proven Partner for Suppliers

I-CAR works hand-in-hand with the tool, equipment, and supply segment to bring the most current and relevant training to their employees as well as their customers. Members of the supplier industry not only contribute to much of the content found in I-CAR training, but I-CAR also recognizes many of these organizations’ training courses though the I-CAR Industry Training Alliance.

I-CAR TRAINING PROGRAMS

I-CAR Industry Training Alliance

Through the Industry Training Alliance, collision repair professionals may apply for PDP™ credit when they complete certain eligible training programs offered by leading OEMs, tool and equipment makers and other industry suppliers.

I-CAR Professional Development Program™ (PDP)

I-CAR's PDP offers role-relevant collision repair training that provides technicians with the knowledge and skills needed to perform complete, safe and quality repairs. Many suppliers also rely on PDP training for their employees to ensure relevance and relationship-building between their company and their valued customers.

When businesses choose PDP training, good things happen for employees, businesses, consumers and the industry as a whole.

A Community of Quality Training

Thanks to the high quality of certain specialized collision repair training programs offered by OEMs, tool and equipment makers and other industry suppliers, the industry is getting closer to seeing the I-CAR Vision become reality: that every person in the collision repair industry has the information, knowledge and skills to perform complete, safe and quality repairs for the ultimate benefit of the consumer.

The I-CAR Industry Training Alliance was formed to provide a mechanism for collision repair professionals to participate in these approved programs and receive I-CAR credit, which can be applied to the Professional Development Program™ and Gold Class™ and Platinum™ recognition. The Alliance not only reduces redundancy, it plays an important role in building a community of quality training partners.

PROVIDER AGREEMENT

Industry Training Alliance Partners

Though the Alliance, I-CAR has formed a much-needed community of quality training providers in the collision repair industry.

I-CAR Professional Development Program™ (PDP)

I-CAR developed the PDP to provide role-relevant collision repair training that helps ensure technicians gain the knowledge and skills needed to perform complete, safe and quality repairs. When technicians complete approved Industry Training Alliance programs, they may apply for I-CAR credit which may be applied to their progress in the PDP.

Applying for Credit Is Easy!

Once you have completed role-relevant training from an eligible Training Alliance provider (click here for a list of approved providers and courses), you may apply for I-CAR credit. Simply complete the online I-CAR Industry Training Alliance Student Application and then print it and either fax or mail it to I-CAR at:

I-CAR Training Support Center

Attn: Industry Training Alliance

5125 Trillium Blvd.

Hoffman Estates, IL 60192
FAX: 800.590.1215

Please note that only training programs listed on the application form are eligible. A separate application is required for each student.

For help redeeming your Paint Maker Certification for Refinish Technician ProLevel 3 completion, please call the I-CAR Customer Care Support Team at 800-ICARUSA.

Once your application is processed, I-CAR Knowledge Area completion and credit hours will be applied to your personal training record, which can be viewed by visiting myI-CAR. Certificates are not issued by I-CAR for training received through the I-CAR Industry Training Alliance.

In order to ensure that your training has been recorded and can be verified by your Industry Training Alliance provider, I-CAR recommends you wait at least 45 days after completing training to submit your application.

Achieve the Status of "Gold Class Industry Services"

As part of the Professional Development Program™ (PDP), I-CAR offers Gold Class™ recognition to collision repair and insurance businesses that achieve and maintain high levels of role-relevent training for their employees. Increasingly, this training is also pertinent to suppliers and related industry providers that offer tool, equipment, product, and solutions to their customers within the Inter-Industry. However, due to the varied nature of the supplier segment, these businesses may not qualify for Gold Class recognition through the same requirements as the collision repair and insurance segments.

Because I-CAR has tailored the PDP to meet the specific needs of the collision repair and insurance segments, I–CAR allows suppliers and industry providers to complete many of the same training courses found within the PDP but does not require completion of a particular role or ProLevel. Businesses within the supplier segment can train under the former "5 & 2" rules to earn and maintain the status of "Gold Class Industry Services." Individual employees may also train under "10 & 2" rules for Platinum™ recognition. I-CAR encourages suppliers and industry providers to choose the training most relevant to them and/or the customers they serve.

I-CAR Professional Development Program™ (PDP)

I-CAR developed the PDP to provide role-relevant collision repair training that helps ensure technicians gain the knowledge and skills needed to perform complete, safe and quality repairs. As technicians complete and maintain the required training, they gain Platinum™ recognition and their companies gain Gold Class™ recognition.

Gold Class™ Recognition

Achieving Gold Class improves your confidence in the knowledge and skills of your employees, improves your relationships with collision shop customers, and improves your market presence.

Wounded Warrior

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a variety of programs, services and events for wounded veterans of the military actions following the events of 9/11/2001. The group's mission is to "honor and empower Wounded Warriors" of the United States Armed Forces and provide services and programs for the family members of its registered veterans.

I-CAR provides free curriculum to any Wounded Warrior-supported project.

Today, I-CAR is also helping to start a new program in North Carolina to teach collision repair to veterans returning from Afghanistan. Fayetteville Technical Community College and Ft. Bragg are collaborating to develop the program, for which I-CAR is proudly donating the curriculum license. The program is targeted to launch in August/September 2014.
