Module 1 - Vehicle Information and Construction
Students will begin the course by learning about several current Ford model vehicles and their differences. An explanation of service and parts information will be given, including collision repair position statements. Students will also learn about different construction materials, their features, and repair considerations. These materials include the widespread use of high-strength steels, as well as aluminum and magnesium parts. Students will also learn to identify the types of plastics found in the Ford and Lincoln line-up.

Module 2 – Body Repairs and Considerations
The course continues with an examination of different joining methods used on Ford and Lincoln vehicles, including the use of fasteners, adhesives, and welds. Information on repair considerations for these methods, as well as considerations for specific vehicle parts will be provided in this module. Considerations around properly preparing parts for corrosion protection coatings and refinishing procedures will also be covered in the second module.

Module 3– Electrical/Mechanical Considerations
The final module concludes with information on electrical and mechanical systems considerations that are specific to Ford vehicles. Students will gain information on Ford’s Auto-Start-Stop System, Blind Spot Information System, Tire Pressure Monitoring System, and other assist systems. In addition, information on Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) and considerations around repair, disabling/enabling, and calibrating will be given. The student will also gain information on hybrid and diesel fuel vehicles.
