Module 1 – Automotive Batteries
The first module of the course identifies functions of automotive batteries and types of batteries found in vehicles. Consideration is given to battery ratings, inspection methods, and procedures for disconnection and removal. The student will also learn about battery charging and charge testing.

Module 2 – Starting System
The course continues with an overview of starting systems and considerations for removal and replacement. The student will learn techniques for troubleshooting and checking voltage and amperage.

Module 3 – Charging System
In the third module of the course the student will learn about types of charging systems. Removal and replacement methods for charging systems will be covered also.

Module 4 – Headlamps
Learning objectives for this module include explaining repair consideration for headlamps, as well as information on switches and lighting circuits.

Module 5 – Exterior and Interior Lighting
The final module describes positions of lighting in vehicles and collision related problems with lighting. The student will also learn information on switches and bulbs.
