Learning Objectives

  • Recruit new talent from the community using industry best practices
  • Conduct career day and career fair events
  • Implement a job shadow program
  • Create career paths to support the development of new talent within the collision repair facility
  • Implement an apprenticeship program

Module 1 – Recruiting Talent
In module one, students will learn about forming partnerships in the community to recruit talent. The course emphasizes the importance of relationships with local schools, parents and students. It presents an overview of current recruitment practices that are yielding results in the collision repair industry.

Module 2 – Career Day
In module two, students explore career fairs and career day events. Learners will examine best practices for conducting and marketing career days. Industry experts share their perspectives on cultivating interest in the collision repair industry.

Module 3 – Job Shadowing
In module three, students discuss job shadowing. They will determine where to locate potential candidates. The module explores effective practices and benefits of conducting job shadow events.

Module 4 – Internal Structure
Module four focuses on the collision repair facility’s internal structure. Career ladders and paths are defined. Industry experts share the steps they took to implement a career path and the benefits of having the structure in place. The students will compare and contrast an employee’s experience with and without a career path. Finally, learners will discuss benefits to developing career paths within the collision repair facility.
