Module 1 – Identification
The first module of the course identifies different refinish and finish materials. This module also describes the steps needed to develop a refinishing plan.

Module 2 – Finish Protection and Removal
The course continues with information on masking and removing parts for finish protection procedures. Types of masking and spray materials, taping procedures, and removal processes are discussed.

Module 3 – Spray Gun Technique
The third module of the course continues with information on spray guns, including settings, travel speeds, and proper technique.

Module 4 – Substrate Preparation
This module describes different types of substrates and bare plastics and preparation techniques. The student will be introduced to the considerations around applying refinish materials to plastics, bare steels, and aluminum parts.

Module 5 – Test Panels and Specialty Spray Areas
The final module of the course concludes with information on making a sprayout panel, including considerations around specialty areas such as edging parts and seam sealers.
