  • Explain why waterborne products are used and which waterborne products are available
  • Understand the difference between waterborne and solvent-borne refinishing materials, including waterborne characteristics and benefits
  • Identify the environmental impact and reasons for converting to waterborne refinishing materials

Module 1 – Waterborne Products
This module will highlight the objectives for this course and identify the various types of waterborne refinishing materials. It will provide safety considerations, environmental concerns, and EPA regulations. This module also describes the differences between waterborne and solvent-borne products.

Module 2 – Waterborne Paint Systems
In this module, the student will take a closer look at preparation, mixing, and application as well as spray gun considerations and techniques. This module also includes air movement requirements and recommendations.

Module 3 – Storage and Waste Disposal
The final module of the course covers proper storage and freeze-prevention considerations for waterborne materials. The student will also learn proper disposal procedures of waterborne waste.
