  • Understand front airbag systems
  • Determine airbag replacement considerations
  • Identify electronic control modules and other features of restraint systems
  • Analyze damage to airbag systems and diagnose repair

Module 1 – Front Airbag Systems
The course opens with an explanation of airbag system operation and parts. The student will gain an understanding of airbag disable and cleanup features and electronic control modules. Additionally, the student will learn damage analysis procedures for post-collision repair and inspections.

Module 2 – Airbag System Diagnosis
The second module identifies diagnostic procedures for restraint systems. The student is introduced to service equipment and proper steps to take toward finishing the repair.

Module 3 – Seat Belt Systems
As the student continues through the course, he or she is introduced to the seat belt system. The student will learn inspection techniques and specific OEM recommendations. In addition, an overview of passive seat belt systems and integrated child seats is provided.

Module 4 – Seat Belt Tensioners
This module offers an overview of seat belt tensioners and testing methods. Students will gain information on seat belt tensioner operation and replacement procedures, as well working with undeployed systems.

Module 5 – Side Airbag Systems
In the fifth module of the course, the student is introduced to side airbags. An overview of side airbag operation and replacement considerations is offered.

Module 6 – Discriminating Restraint Systems
The course concludes with an overview of discriminating restraint systems and seat-occupied sensors.
