A collision warning system is a vehicle-based system designed to determine an imminent collision early enough to help prevent the collision from happening, or minimizing the resulting damage. A collision warning system will forewarn the driver of a possible collision through audible, visual, or physical alerts, or a combination of these to prompt the driver to take preventive action. Depending on the system it may also provide braking assistance. The Collision Warning Systems training program will present a basic overview of the operation of and repairs to various collision warning systems.
