  • Identify conditions that often result in flood total loss.
  • Understand the effects of water on automotive electronics, plastics, fabric, and mechanical parts
  • Determine the steps required to perform a proper inspection on a flood-damaged vehicle
  • Identify the cause and origin of the fire and determine the degree of fire damage
  • Recognize what can be repaired and what requires replacement in fire-damaged vehicles
  • Provide repair methods for fire-damaged vehicles

Module 1 – Flood Damage Analysis
The first module of the course begins with an examination of the different types of floodwater and how to identify the height of the floodwater. Flood damage inspection procedures are provided for both the interior, exterior, and engine comparment. The module continues by providing potential repair options for flood damaged parts.

Module 2 – Fire Damage Analysis
The second module concludes the course with an examination of the common causes of vehicle fires and information on the procedures used to determine the possible cause of a fire when inspecting fire-damaged vehicles. The student will be given information on repair options for vehicles with light fire damage.
