Accessing many mechanical parts requires removal of trim pieces. There is a process and technique to accomplish this to ensure parts and clips are not damaged in the process. This course looks at the tools, storage considerations, hardware types, and trim removal techniques to follow. It also shows removal considerations for a variety of trim pieces such as seats, doors, and headliners.

Course Content
Module 1 – Trim Removal Tools and Storages
Module 1 explains specific techniques that can be used for hardware organization during trim panel removal. It will also identify different types of attachment hardware and tools used for hardware removal and installation. 

Module 2 – Interior Trim Removal
Module 2 identifies the initial steps to be taken when beginning the trim removal process. Students will be able to list considerations for removal of speakers, consoles, instrument panels, and interior pillar trim. This module also examines part removal considerations for seats, door trim, carpet, and the headliner.

Module 3 – Exterior Trim Removal
Module 3 reviews removal considerations for exterior trim such as splash shields and fender liners, tail lamps, and license plates. It will also look at removal considerations for antennas, doors, and lock cylinders.
