Collision Repair of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra is a 1-hour course that covers collision repair of the completely redesigned 2019 Silverado/Sierra trucks. This course includes the identification of the increase of repair procedures along with the great details now in them. Major service parts are identified, and all major repairs are called out and discussed. Lastly the electromechanical systems pertinent to collision repair are covered.

 

Course Content
Module 1 – 2019 Silverado/Sierra Overview

Module one will identify key changes made to the construction of the new Silverado/Sierra. This include changes in materials, aerodynamics, and the introduction of a replaceable front module. There will be discussion of some repair highlights including the increased usage of structural adhesives. We will also discuss the joining methods used on the new trucks. The module will conclude with a discussion on service parts. This module will include graphics, a slideshow, and videos to support the content.

Module 2 – Available Repair Procedures

This module is all about collision repair for the new trucks. The module begins with a highlight about the repair information available from GM. It then goes into discussions about the allowable repairs on the front module. This will lead into other structural procedures allowed for the unitized cab structure. Next there will be discussion on repairs for the outer body panels. The module will conclude with repairs allowed on the front and rear of the frame. This module will also include graphics, slideshows, and videos to support the content.

Module 3 – Electromechanical Systems

The last module will go over electromechanical systems pertinent to collision repair. The module will start with a discussion of the considerations required when performing repairs on the various tailgates. We will then go over the various advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) that the trucks can be equipped with. In this section discussion of learn/calibration requirements will also be identified. The module will conclude with discussions of the various suspension systems used along with the changes to the HVAC system.
