Honda Training

I-CAR Gold Class designation is one of the basic knowledge and skill requirement options to qualify for the ProFirst Certified body shop program from American Honda Motor Co. Through earning the Gold Class designation, collision repair facilities may increase operational efficiencies, reduce cycle times, minimize repair mistakes, and most importantly, complete safe repairs.

For information on getting started with the Gold Class designation, visit Gold Class Professionals Business Recognition.

The ProFirst Certified body shop program is available to both dealer-owned and independent collision repair facilities.

Training Requirements

In addition to Gold Class designation, to qualify for ProFirst Certified Status each shop must have a minimum of two structural technicians and one estimator complete the Honda/Acura training as shown below:

These are the currently available modules of the American Honda training series. More modules will be introduced on an ongoing basis over a three-year timeframe which began in February 2015. Modules will be introduced from time to time as determined by American Honda. The Shop will be advised via email as new modules are available and will have 90 days from the date that a given class is announced to complete the specified class in order to maintain its ProFirst Certified status. For your convenience, these modules will be delivered online through I-CAR, but do not earn I-CAR credit hours. The modules apply to U.S. models only.

Additional requirements must be met in order to qualify for the ProFirst program, including CSI System, Tools and Equipment, Facility Standards and Shop Inspections. For more specific program information, contact the program administrator at
